The Wesley Hill Sports Complex is the home to hundreds of users every week - football, basketball, netball, billiards, badminton, cycling, cricket, little athletics, remote control cars - all currently use the site. There are also other groups in the shire needing facilities.
These clubs recognise the need to upgrade the aging facilities and the Wesley Hill Sports Complex Re-development group are aiming to make it happen.
Mt Alexander Community Grants Project is financially supporting this group in their efforts. They have already successfully applied for funding from the Mt Alexander Shire for a planning grant and are now seeking an additional $30,000 from the Department of Sport and Recreation to undertake a major feasibility study.
With a growing monthly income from Bendigo Community Telco, the group aims to take a loan to reach the community contribution required for any major project.
